Soldera 1997 (Calypso Drip)
This one-of-a-kind artwork re-imagines the Soldera Brunello di Montalcino 1997 label as a spray can icon. Hand-cut stencils and aerosol paint are layered onto a 40.5 × 28.6 in (72.8 × 103 × 3.3 cm) wood panel and sealed with a gloss varnish. The piece ships with a signed certificate of authenticity.
Soldera 1997 (Calypso Drip) translates the ornate structure of the original Brunello label onto the cylindrical form of a spray can, shifting it from traditional bottle branding into contemporary pop format. The deep black ground and gold framing preserve the authority of the label, while the calypso green vertical drip introduces a deliberate interruption across the crest and typography. The work focuses on hierarchy, framing and contrast, treating the label as a graphic system rather than a reference to the bottle itself.
